My name is Jo Hathaway. I am a contemporary abstract artist, based in Brighton, England.

Saul Bellow spoke of art as ‘stillness in the midst of chaos’ - I want my paintings to express hope and joy in that stillness - stillness that is not passive, but patient; and hope that is not a whisper, but a defiant, kind and joyful shout full of colour and movement.
