Handfinished prints

All my prints are handfinished - that is to say that I add paint to the print, fresh marks and pops of colour to really draw out the colours and textures of the original paintings they are taken from. This way, every print is unique and you know you’re getting something really special.

Paper or canvas print?

Prints are available on paper or stretched canvas.

Original artwork is scanned and colour proofed then printed onto an acid free, slightly textured 310gsm alpha/cotton mix paper using archival inks.

Alternatively, the image can also be printed onto a 350gsm poly-cotton canvas which is then coated with a UV filtering varnish and stretched onto a kiln dried pine stretcher frame to create a ready to hang print on canvas.

Prints are handfinished, signed, numbered and wrapped in tissue paper. For international orders, I will get in touch to discuss postage and packing.

All my prints are managed and printed by the brilliant the Frame Factory, Brighton.

Please allow 21 days for print, painting and delivery.

'Your absence is a presence. Who knew an empty space could take up so much room?’

Jacqueline Simon Gunn

This print is taken from what may be my favourite of the chair paintings at the heart of the exhibition, ‘The Presence of Absence’. The empty chair symbolises the absence of a loved one, who is due to return or longed for. The open book on the arm of the chair suggests interruption. The cosy evening colours herald Autumn.

The well loved, soft armchair suggests home, what Seamus Heaney described as ‘Here is love, like the tinsmith’s scoop, sunk past its gleam in the mealbin’.

Originally acrylic painting on canvas, the print gives all the texture and colour match of the original.

The print is available on 350gsm verona rag paper, with a white border, or as a framed or unframed canvas print.
