Leftover tissue and wrapping paper? Scraps of patterns, abandoned paintings, cards, cardboard and bits that are too good to throw away but too crumpled to reuse?

This four-hour workshop is aimed at transforming it into art.

From Matisse to Warhol and beyond, artists have been using collage to express themselves, and to bring an abstract angle and passive collaboration to creating artwork.

In this workshop we will look at the variety of work that falls under the banner of ‘collage’ and think about:

·       how to mix your media

·       how to put together different shapes, colours, textures and patterns to achieve balance and form.

This relaxed and playful workshop is aimed at bringing some colour, pattern and joy into what can be a grey month, and launching your creativity into Spring.
